About the Work
In October 2022, Alternative Motion Project returned to the Southern Theater for a dynamic and captivating evening of newly commissioned works performed by AMP's talented company of movers. Each distinct world premiere explores the multi-faceted concept of identity, reflecting the unique perspectives of each artist that threads the eclectic evening together. Videography by Tamara Ober.
Each of the choreographers were selected from a pool of applicants who proposed new works as part of AMP’s Open Call for Proposals (May 2022). The ViewPoints Program aims to empower local independent dance artists with administrative, creative, and personnel support in order to build new dance works. ViewPoints uses a contemporary dance lens to offer audiences a unique performance experiencing, highlighting the breadth, range, and talent that exists in Minnesota’s dance community.
This is Alternative Motion Project’s first production since Joanna Lees assumed her role as the sole Artistic Director.
